Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center was founded by Daisy Rivera and through the combined efforts of the Cultural Educational Institute for Boricua Advancement (CEIBA) and the Hispanic Parent’s Union in March, 1991.
These organizations united to realize a long time dream of establishing a family oriented center to serve the Latino youth and their families through programs and activities designed to foster cultural pride, self-esteem, and art appreciation.
Since 1991 Julia De Burgos Cultural Arts Center has served as a non-profit entity dedicated to providing an environment that inspires educational achievement and discipline.
The Center was named after the late Puerto Rican Poet, Julia De Burgos, who devoted her life to teach children and inspired national pride.
