Our Programs

Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center's mission is to build cultural understanding and inclusion among our audiences. We implement
our annual festivals, Fiesta Latina in the IX Center in April and the
Latino Arts & Culture Celebration of Greater Cleveland during the
summer in downtown Cleveland attracting a broad diverse audience
with the purpose of educating others about the Latino traditions and
folklore. We collaborate with local arts organizations to support diversity in
the neighborhoods and schools. We organize educational seminars
and workshops on topics of history, culture, literary contributions and
the arts. Our weekly cultural arts classes include percussion, folkloric
dance, music classes inclusive of guitar, cuatro, and piano, modeling
and refinement classes and arts and crafts lessons. We also sponsor
Project Coqui which is a youth leadership development project for
talented Latino youth and aspiring artists. Total number of people served: 500 to 1000 youth and adults per year in programs, classes, workshops and artistic presentations. Estimated audiences for annual festivals and large public events are: Total: 30,000 Adults who benefit: 28,000
